Undergraduate Degrees

Bachelor of Arts – Major in Art History
Bachelor of Design – Major in Interdisciplinary Design
Bachelor of Fine Arts – no major, Major in Ceramics,  Major in Film, Major in Fine Art, Major in Intermedia, Major in Jewellery Design and Metalsmithing,  Major in Photography, Major in Textiles

Five main areas of study within undergraduate programs:

  1. Craft: includes ceramics, jewellery, and textiles
  2. Design: includes interdisciplinary design, graphic design, digital design, and product design
  3. Fine Art: includes drawing, painting, printmaking, and sculpture
  4. Historical and Critical Studies: includes art history, English, liberal arts and other critical analysis courses
  5. Media Arts: includes film, intermedia, and photography

English proficiency– You are not required to give proof of English language proficiency if: You studied at an English language institution for at least 3 years at the secondary level; OR you studied at an English language institution for at least one year at the post-secondary level.

General Entrance Award

  • Dalhousie awards more than 2,000 entrance awards to our first year class
  • Students admitted directly from high school must apply to the general entrance award program
  • Transfer and mature students are considered for scholarships after completing one year of study
  • By completing this single application, students are considered for the majority of our entrance scholarships and bursaries
  • Students must submit a transcript of their Grade 12 first-semester finals (or up-to-date official transcript if the applicant’s high school is not semestered)
  • Must submit all supporting documentation as required by optional sections within the General Entrance Award application (e.g., Notices of Assessment, medical documentation, etc.) 
  • Students admitted to a program prior to March 15 must apply to the General Entrance Award program through DalOnline
  • Students admitted to third year Engineering should see the Faculty of Engineering for scholarship information.

$88,000 – $22,000 renewable for 4 years

Open to: Students from Jamaica entering the Bachelor of Engineering program, who demonstrate good academic standing and financial need

Students interested in this award must submit the General Entrance Award application by March 15.
