Scholarships
Alaa & Valerie Abd-El-Aziz Scholarship for an International Student
Maximum Amount :$500
Awarded to a student who generally resides in a country outside of North America and is entering undergraduate studies at UPEI.
Maximum Amount: $500 Faculty: Business Deadline: Oct 1
Awarded to a student entering third year in the Accounting Specialization, who had a high academic achievement in Accounting 202, demonstrates leadership, professionalism, team building and mentorship of his or her peers and intends to pursue a career as a Chartered Professional Accountant. Preference given to international students.
Ambrose Lee International Student Prize
Maximum Amount: $500 Deadline: Feb 1
Awarded to an international student (not including the US) who has used the services of the Webster Centre for Teaching and Learning.
Royal Commonwealth Society (PEI Branch) Award
Maximum Amount: $500 Deadline: Feb 1
Awarded annually to a UPEI student from a Commonwealth country in any field of study. The award is based on academic excellence and need. It seeks to recognize students who will use their studies to contribute to the development of their country of origin. Preference will be given to a student who is not normally resident in Canada.
$1000-$1500
Awarded annually to international students who join UPEI from high schools in Canada or other countries. The scholarship amounts range from $1,000 to $3,000.
Eligibility: Valid Canadian study permit, converted averages between 90% and 100% (or equivalent GPA), be amongst the top 5%- 10% of their class rankings , extracurricular activities and experiences, strong recommendations from teachers or instructors, exhibit strong English language skills, show strong potential for future academic development. Dr. Vianne Timmons International Student Award
Maximum Amount: $1000 Deadline: Feb 1
Awarded to an International student enrolled in their second year of study as a full time undergraduate student in good academic standing who demonstrates involvement, both on and off campus.
Florence Simmons UPEI Entrance Scholarships
Maximum Amount: $1500
Awarded to international students entering the first year of study in an undergraduate program at the University of Prince Edward Island. Based on admission average to the university. Recommended by the International Relations Office.
International Athletic Fellowship
Maximum Amount: $1000
Awarded to an International student who is currently a member of one of the UPEI varsity athletic teams and in good academic standing. Students will be nominated by their coaches.
International Continuing Excellence Award
Maximum Amount: $1000
Awarded to international students who have successfully completed their previous year of study at UPEI with a minimum cumulative average of 80% and have returned to full time study in the current academic year.
International Scholastic Achievement Prize
Maximum Amount: $1500 Deadline: Feb 1
A non-renewable prize for international students who have achieved and maintained a minimum cumulative average of 75% and have contributed to the campus community, and have not previously received an International Scholastic Achievement Prize.
International Student Awards: 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students
Maximum Amount: $1015
Awarded to a first-, second-, and third-year international student in Veterinary Medicine.

A non-renewable entrance award up to the value of $2000. for a student who graduated in the top 10% of their graduating class and entering first year of study in Canada.
Joyce M. (Hooper) Andrew Scholarships in Education
Maximum Amount: $3000 Deadline: Apr 15
Awarded to two students entering the Bachelor of Education program at UPEI. Preference will be given to applicants who demonstrate academic achievement, are international students, members of minority groups, or who plan to teach in an area facing a teaching shortage. Community involvement will be a consideration.
Executive MBA Entrance Scholarships
Maximum Amount: $5000 Faculty: Business Deadline: Jun 30
Awarded to five incoming EMBA students at the UPEI School of Business Administration. Candidates must have applied for admission by June 30. Criteria includes: minimum of 75% average in last two years of undergraduate or graduate level of study, professional accomplishments, and demonstrated leadership. Preference may be given to an international student candidate for one of the scholarships.
Scholarships listed are specific to international students. Other faculty and departmental awards may be available.
RESIDENCE
Houses 147 students living in sets of two rooms. Typically housed by first year students. Three floors are co-ed and one floor is female only. Each floor contains TV lounge, study lounge, kitchenette, and laundry facilities.
Apartment-style residence, contains 63 two-bedroom apartments complete with full kitchen, living room. Students have their own bedroom, and share a living room, kitchen and bathroom with their apartment mate
One-, two-, and three-bedroom suites equipped with bathroom and kitchenette. Common TV lounges, laundry facilities, and the Wanda Wyatt Dining Hall found in building
